My entry for the Rin Un-Birthday Contest [link] held by :iconfour-eyed-samurai:
The characters go as follows, from left to right: Valentino, Drew (i.e. Cu Sidhe, my character), Rin (the birthday girl), Fred, and Mishuku.

Wow. I mean, this was just a blast to do. I've done some ~Goth-Inc fan art already, but this one has to be the best of the bunch so far. In case you can't tell, I'm very happy with this. :D

The premise of this piece was to draw Rin's birthday, which falls on Halloween and, as Catherine put it, her lovelies have thrown her a party. So it's supposed to be a Halloween/birthday celebration of sorts. The scene shown here is Rin opening her presents after having some cake and tea. Freddy's gift is a pet hamster, which, if you're familiar with the cartoon 'Courage the Cowardly Dog', is very appropriate. The other gifts seen are Valentino's in bat patterned wrapping paper, Mishuku's next to his (You'll note it's wrapping has star and circle patterns, like =Mishuku's avatar: :iconmishuku:. Also, it's pretty easy to tell that it's a smaller hammer. If you look at the handle, you'll catch the very end of the inscription, which is "St. Augustine McPimpington IV". Mishuku's hammer is "the third".), and a plushie Mr. FooFoo from it's namesake next to hers (I used =foofooboob's 'Love Today' [link] as the reference.). Lastly, Drew's gift to Rin is a first edition 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. [link] (The story makes me think of the Cu Sidhe of Celtic folklore. Plus the author, though typically associated more so with England, had some Irish & Scottish upbringing. And with the story being a darker mystery, all three of these elements made this the best choice for me.) And on a final note, the text was stylized after that of Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.

So enjoy this drawing, everybody. I know I did. :D
I especially hope this encourages you to keep on writing, Catherine!
